Default Opinions on 408 stroker combo please

I have a 408 going into a nova. The bottom end is built well with eagle crank, diamond custom pistons, eagle rods, studded through out. I have a thunder racing stroker cam, I believe the specs are 244/248 .625 .625 on 112lsa. I was going to use cnc ls3 heads with a victor jr carb setup and msd 6010. Should be around 11:1 compression. Will this cam work well with these heads? Shooting for about 500whp. I already have everything but the heads. Any opinions would be great.

Wrong cam for the heads, and even moreso with a carb intake. Look into getting a custom cam made, but for what you're after I'd be looking at something high 230s/low 250s on a 108lsa with a carb.

If you go with an l92/ls3 head get a custom specd cam. Period.

I learned that the hard way.

Carb and ls3 heads make it a wild card.. Wider split and events for heads and low lsa for Carb.

I have some patriot stage 2 ls6 heads, would they work better or too small? I am on a very limited budget for sure and I am trying to use what I already have. Thanks again.

Yep.. Id use those heads with that cam vs the ls3 heads.
I have patriot ported ls6s on my car.. Large stalled auto and Im a solid bit over 500rwhp and 480+tq. They can perform.

What intake will you be running if you go that route?
Is this a street or track car?

street and track car, 4l80e. I had the same motor with the patriot heads and a torquer v2 cam and it made around 460-470hp. Propelled my 3700lb in the very low 7 second range in the 1/8 mile. I figured with the stroker cam swap it would pick up some. I would still use the victor jr and a Mighty Demon carb. Thanks for all your input lemons.

If you already have that intake it won't work on an ls3 head. The port designs are different.

The strokes will definitely make more a difference. I wish i would have made the change longer ago than i did.

if you are on a budget you can reuse your current valve train.
