Default LQ4 Tear down Questions and Expectations !??

Moved to Newbie!!

Hey Everyone

I Purchased a 2000 LQ4 and a 4l80e combo to swap in my 78 Trans Am. I have just begun the process of pulling apart the engine. After figuring out some numbers for the swap and unfortunetly working with a tight budget, I may go forward and use the stock short block. The engine has about 130k on it, so being relatively new to LS based stuff; which areas of the engine should I focus my attention on, to make sure the short block is still good for a performance build?

That all being said, I had plans on going boosted with forged internals, but as I said before budget is tight (wedding in 6 months). So im thinking of doing a N/A build. Assuming my short block checks out good, Would 400whp be to much to ask out of this shortblock?

Thanks,
Mike
