Porting tfs 205s
Looking for a shop that ports tfs 205s. I want to get a set for my c5z. I like the small chambers that will work without flycutting, but want a bigger runner. I'm running a fairly large cam but want more compression for more tq.

I'm surprised the TFS 205s aren't more popular. They are a small chamber head with a stock sized runner. They would make for a killer head that worked well with big cams that need compression and piston-to-valve clearance. And look at the AFR 205s... they made awesome power and flowed about the same.
They are also a lot cheaper than the TFS215... like $450 cheaper. Enough to offset the cost of the roller rockers or pay for installation of PM guides. And for just a couple hundred more than the TFS 220s; they have similar flow but better port velocity... all while having a much smaller chamber.
I almost wish I knew more about them last year when I bought my heads. I would have given them a try with a big cam. I wouldn't have had to flycut.

them bare...pop in some hollow LS6 intake valves and have near 12:1 comp
with a thin gasket and PTV clearance for a T-Rex sized stick..***** Thumper
Look at all the fun you had with your friend Lindy Tool.....

Yeah.. now I can mill down more or run more cam. But I'm set for now.
But the TFS heads offer 58cc at better than stock PtV Gary... when you mill, you kill your clearance, even with the TFS heads. Especially to get them down to 58cc.
And yes, running the hollow-stem LS6 valves would be awesome!

Going to run the valves from tfs. The heads did have .005 taken off. Just to make sure they were straight. Martin said I'd still be good with the cam I'm running though. I'm running a 237/240 622/588 112+3. Hoping I can get them ported soon and really get some flow out of them.

I talked to Chris frank at Frankenstein racing yesterday but I'm doing some shopping around first. And I believe tick performance sells them as well as cushman motorsports and cal speed. I bought mine off a friend who decided to build an ls3 for his truck.

That's what I was thinking. Hell, what I love best about them is the PTV clearance you have. I want to run a bigger cam, but I don't want to have to flycut, so these would be a great option for me. By the way Jake, I currently have .069" intake clearance and .101" clearance on the exhaust side. Current cam is 227/235 110 LSA. How much bigger could I go without having to flycut?

I don't know. Gotta measure lol.
A 231 intake lobe on a 108 ICL would still clear I would think, but be tight. I'd feel better with a 231 on a 110 ICL (with LSL lobes). Going to a 235 or so on a 110 would be tight.
