G5X-2 Cam going in, what else should I do?
Got a LS1/6spd and we're putting it in my '69 Firebird. Going to get a G5X-2 cam and install it before we stick the motor in. What are good springs to run with this cam? I don't want to be changing springs every few thousand miles. Do the pistons need to be cut, or will I have a little clearance? The computer is going to be swapped out for one programmed for a very similar cam and already had everything deleted from it, like 02 sensors, etc. Anything else I need to do/check on?

I'm running the Crane dual springs on mine and they are holding up great so far. Many trips to 6,800 rpm You wont need to cut the pistons unless you have heads that have been milled. You also will need to look into computer tuning. If ANYTHING, for idle/hot start issues

Yea, I should be getting a computer already tuned and edited for basically the same cam. I won't get to put the cam in until late Sept. b/c I'm going to Balad Iraq for 90+ days to install armor on cargo trucks. I should have time/money to get everything ordered and waiting on me when, or IF, I get back. Maybe even some heads too.
