Default 5.3 with 4.8 pistons

hey guys and girls i was wondering what the best top end combination with a 04 lm7 with the flat top 4.8 pistons. im wondering what heads cam and injectors will get me the furthest in hp.

What kind of rods did you put in your 3.622 stroke while using 4.8 pistons.

i was just going to use the stock rods out of the 5.3 if that is possible

Not sure, maybe someone else can chime in on this. But 4.8 pistons are designed for a (I believe) 6.3" rod and 3.2 stroke.

4.8 rods are about .250 longer to make up for the shorter stoke of the crank. Last week I was sold "5.3" pistons and rods. But after installing one, and put the crank to TDC, this is what it looked like...

This has been covered once before they will work. In the part catalog for GM. The 4.8L and the 5.3L H.O. L33 use the same pistons (same part number).

Dude sold it to me saying it was 5.3.

You have to match rods and crank, cant interchange them from 4.8 to 5.3. but piston will change out

very simple, can use the 4.8 or 5.3 block. but have to use the 5.3 crank and rods, the 4.8 pistons. makes a higher compression 5.3.

idk i can get a great deal out of anything from the gm catalog but was wondering if they had the right combination of parts to get me to the 500-600 rwhp range on my 03 1500
