Default busted exhaust bolt

Hey folks, longtime lurker here.

I'm finally getting going on my ls swap and found out why the bag of bolts I got with the motor was shy an exhaust bolt, it was busted off in the head.
It's the driver's side rear bolt next to #7
Dang---not even flush! its down a good bit, 1/8" or so.

I was hoping to leave the head on, supposedly a low-mile engine but finding this makes me wanna open it up and go further down the rabbit hole.

Pulling the head is gonna run me what, a couple hundred?

$50 gaskets, $50 head bolts, $100 shop labor

Anything I can try before I pull it?

I'd hate to bust an easy-out in there.
Been there, done that.

That method worked like gangbusters.

Had to build up a nub before I could weld a nut on there.

Very important to pour the heat down into the stud and not the nut.

Let it cool to the touch, added some PBB and it came right out.
