Just thought I'd leave this here...

(YOUR lift) + .050 (clearance from coil bind) = "x" + the spring's coil bind = optimal install height Hope that helps even a little bit. I'm not even TOUCHING what was said before.

This is actually not true. I run .150 from bind with no issues. Some setups are optimal less than .040 some are optimal at over .150. There is no one rule for every engine on earth.

Well it's what I do, and what I've been taught. I also never had a cam with soft lobes either, so that's more reason for myself.
