got my first ls car its a 98 trans am very clean car all stock, has 245000 miles. found it for sale it had a noise in the moter the owner thought it was a bearing , but too me it sounded like a valve train noise , I pulled left valve cover off and #1 cly exaust valve spring is broke!!!!!! I hope that all that is wrong with it it still ran good but the best part is I got the car for $1500!

 

Good find, you could part it out for double that or more lol..

You should do a leak down test, if its good then get a set of valve springs and let her rip..

 

I am gona replace that 1 spring and see how it does it ran good had good power and oil press just made a bad noise! I am snowed in as soon as I can I will go get some parts! if its all good I will replace them all!
