lq4 engine gone bad setting?
lq4 engine gone bad setting? i'll try and make this short. I work for a local bus garage and I take care of 28 school bus'. 6 are gm with lq4 engines last year I shut them down in may and didn't start it till after the 4th of july . well I started all of them and walked away came back buy an noticed one sounding loud and no oil pressure drained the oil and had metal so I changed that engine. well this year I have a couple spares so they don't run only once a month Friday I started one and noticed it has low to no oil pressure the lifters are loud the oil is right on the full line if I rev it to 1500 it will read 5-10 pounds pressure but that's it.
both engines have 175000 miles and oil changed every 3000 sence new don't burn any oil and have never made a sound but both are sister bus' and were built the same day one vin number apart.in 2004 they are 2005 model vin code u lq4 engines. any ideas? thanks.

the first engine I rebuilt and never found a definite issue I turned the crank changed the oil pump put in a comp cam and a turbo and it is in my nova runs at 50 psi oil pressure idling but it has a new oilpan and pickup and all seals and gaskets.
