Default 241s vs 317s

i just picked up a lq4 short block for cheap. which would be a better set of heads for it the 317s or 241s? i have a set of each and either set could be ported. or i had a friend tell me since i dont have a intake yet that i should look into a l92 set up. The cam i will be using is a trickflow specs : 228/230 .585"/.585" 112 lsa. or what a friend told me to go with an l92 set up as

thanks for your help.

I would go with the 241's if your staying N/A, and already have them. The 66cc combustion chamber with a thinner .040" head gasket would get you to 10:1 compression. Mill the heads some and that will get you to the 10.5:1 range with the dished LQ4 piston. That with your cam, a good exhaust and intake you'll have 400+ HP at the wheels.

If you are thinking about having them ported, go with the 317's. They are a better head and AI can weld up the combustion chamber to up the cc.

317's are 243's with 71cc chambers vs 64cc.

You can mill the 317s too and make more power than 241s all day.
