Default What would my CR be with this combo?

What would the CR be on an L33 5.3 engine, and these heads? > http://www.texas-speed.com/p-1172-pr...-castings.aspx

It all depends on what you have the heads milled to. Your compression will be as follows:
63cc - 10.20:1
62cc - 10.33:1
61cc - 10.46:1
60cc - 10.60:1
59cc - 10.74:1
58cc - 10.88:1

Just remember that these are for customer supplied heads. We no longer sell these heads outright as we cannot get any new 5.3 castings at the pricing that we once could. You have LS6 heads on your set up right now. The compression would be the same if you sent those in to be worked over given the same combustion chamber size as mentioned. The pricing is also the same as sending in 5.3 heads.

Thank you,
Lonnie

I know you don't sell them outright anymore. I'm asking because I plan on using them in the future with an L33 engine and want to know where the CR is at (it will be on a boosted motor).

I bought the heads as a heads and cam, and heavy duty timing chain combo a few years ago. Is there anyway we could go back and look at which style I went with?

I ordered an MS3 cam, and wanted to be sure that I had piston to valve clearance (which I did).

We will only mill those .007 (1cc) for you to still be able to run an MS3 cam. PM me the name that they were ordered under and around when they were purchased. I will see if your sales order is still in the system. If not I can tell you how to measure your combustion chamber using a caliper.

Just got off the phone with TSP. Sounds like unofficially they were 60cc's, so my CR should be 10.60:1.

I'd like to get my CR down to around 10:1 or so. Can this be done with running a larger head gasket?

Honestly, I would think it's closer to 60.5cc or 61cc. .010 is the max we will mill off of those and be safe for an MS3. Either way, you can run a thicker head gasket but not thick enough to drop you down to 10:1. A .060 thickness gasket will drop you down to 10.37:1. I would recommend a different head to get you there. The stock heads on that motor is rated at 9.9:1 anyways. Just use those heads and have them worked over in order to stay at your desired compression ratio.

I could probably do that, but my heads flow great, and in order to get the stock ones towing that good, I'm looking at a bit of $ (I'm trying to do the turbo built on a budget).

That being said, I could probably sell my heads for more than it would cost me to have the stock 5.3 heads worked over I suppose.
