Default LQ4 RPM's?

What rpm is everyone safely turning their stock bottom end lq4's in a racing application? I will have all ARP bolts in the bottom end also...

I turn my LQ9 to 6,800 on stock bolts. No issues as of yet, knock on wood.

Yea i was thinking around 6500 or so, my cam will run up to 6800 but was thinking about setting the box at 6500...

it will also be on the rev limiter a whole lot, going in a off road rig!

im usally turn mine with stock bolts about 6800 on nos its 6900 and about 7100 at finish line

You understand the ARPs will pull the big ends out of round and require resizing right?

If the bolts are upgraded and big ends resized then give it hell. If you think you can just swap to arps in block and leave it at that, let us know how long before the oil turns copper colored. Been documented and measured the ARPs require resizing ARP even says so.

makes sense but im new to the ls family so what are you referring to as big ends? main caps?
