Default ls2 lifter tray orientation

IM installing ls2 lifter trays into my lq9. One side of the ls2 tray is flat, similar to the ls1 tray. The other side has trapezoid shaped indentations, which side goes where?

And also, do the oiling holes in the lifters face towards the front or rear of the block? I've read that it doesn't matter, but I wanted to confirm this, thanks

Trays: when you fit them you will see they can go only one way.

Lifters: oil holes don't matter which direction.

Yup, they should only fit one way, with indentation facing down.

Some blocks (including this LS2 block) have corresponding tabs in the block to align with the indentations in the trays.

Here is a pic of a Gen 3 block with LS1 trays for reference.
