Thanks for the input, i'd rather run the tie bar lifters myself. Just prefer to do without the plastic trays.

The lunati "streets" are made by morel and are a very good quality for an inexpensive tie bar set.

I contacted Lunati. I was told they are comparable to the street lifters, but no link bar.

That is correct, they are great lifters, good up to 6K. For the price, it's great.

This thread caused a change in plans regarding the installation of our 231/237, 598/595, 112 cam. Were not able to confirm what lobes it has. Companies did try to help identify it, but, could not, due to its' age (over the phone). Can anyone identify the typical lobe ramp for this cam when it was released...more than 5 yrs ago? To stay on topic, it is the concern of LS7 lifter failure due to XER or other overly aggressive cam lobes that have kept us from using the cam.

If you get a set of lifters I can possibly ID the cam!

13045 intake lobe which is pretty dang aggressive. It is a newer lobe. Prob released around 2009-2010. The exhaust, either your duration is off by a degree or the lift is.

The 13045 lobe is an HUC lobe. The HUC description says "very smooth design intended for high rpm use with heavy valves". I don't know if I'd call that aggressive?

It is designed off the extreme marine lobe and is a bit softer, but it is an aggressive lobe. Not like the LSK or the like, but still more than a std lobe.

Hi, hey you seem extremely knowledgeable, I use LS7 Caddy race lifters & have wondered why in many other LS7 lifter threads why they aren't using these as an alternative to the normal LS7 lifters.

They have a huge stigma about quite a few failures and not performing as intended quite a while back.
Kinda like Scorpion rockers.
They are still rather pricey and I would rather sell the Lunati's or Comps over them.

Here they are, just under a different part number. We've got these at an introductory price and then BAM, it goes up.

Here are the Morel drop ins at an introductory price and then BAM, it goes up.

^ those links are correct.

If you still want the LS7 lifter set, they are $99.95 right now
The Morel Drop ins (which can be had for a better price right now than the lunatis in this thread!) are HERE at ~$185.
You wont find em anywhere else for that price.
The other Morel options are HERE under the Brand.

People complain about the LS7 lifters because they are having valve train noise issues. Many people suspect their lifters have some type of short coming that is causing their valve train noise. So, these people are in search for another lifter that may solve their problem. It is not a catastrophic failure trend that is driving the market for lifter alternatives, it is noise complaints.

Well that is not entirely right. There have been failures before and usually for above 6500 or aggressive lobes or a good amount of seat pressure, we recommend a different lifter.

What? You mean there are limits to the capability of stock parts? LOL

It is entirely possible that stock or stock replacement parts will fail before a higher quality aftermarket part will, but normally that failure can be attributed to improper setup or abuse. Normally.
Peace of mind can be priceless though.
Why do you think people spend so much money on engines from the higher tier engine builders? They use the same parts (for the most part). Quality is usually the answer.
