Default LS1 Stroker

I figure many of yall have bore and stroked your LS motors. My question is, is boring .40 over sketchy or should I just stick with doing a 383? my goal is to setup a stroker with LS2 heads and LS6 intake. still haven't figured out what cam but thatll come later. If I use my stock block besides the obvious( gaskets, injectors, tb, maf, dampener etc..) what will I need? looking at spending 3500 on stroker kit and machine shop building it and probably gapping for a 200 shot. then about 1500 on heads and intake/tb. this Friday installing moser 12 bolt because its simple and cheaper than 9". Any advice would be appreciated
