Default is this normal?

I finally got my plates and drove the car to work, at cold start up oil pressure is about 55, after warming up it was just under 40 after about 30 miles it was around 21-27. Is that normal? I know it leaks a little oil possibly rear main but I made sure it was topped up. If it is the oil pump, I know its hard to say but how long could I drive it like this? I have about a 90 mile round trip commute. What would happen if it dropped too low?

Also is that temp normal after warming up? What's that caution light? Low coolant? Because the coolant is full... Sorry for all the questions.

It is just above minimum GM specifications, but low compared to the LS engine I own. You should verify your gauge against a mechanical gauge before pursuing other possible issues.

Are you referring to the oil pressure? How would I verify?

With a direct connect mechanical gauge. See attached, for example.

Have you done anything to it?
Seems pretty low.
I broke my oil pressure sending unit putting the heads back on and I replaced it with a cheap autozone sensor. it showed low oil pressure similar to yours, I replaced the sending unit with a factory one and it jumped right back up

Nothing mechanical. I bought it a month ago it was like this.

The coolant ordeal looks like a stuck open thermostat if that's what the needle shows when it's fully warmed up

Burp the coolant system, I've seen air cause the light to go off.
Hooking a mechanical oil gauge is going to be your best bet on the oil pressure. How many miles on the motor?

the low coolant light being stuck on could be caused by a faulty sensor in the overflow tank. They get all nasty due to the shitty dexcool coolant gumming up. Remove the sensor and either try and clean it real good or replace it.

I took my reservoir out once and i dont remember a sensor being there. The car has green coolant. I'm assuming they switched. Do you know where the sensor is located? Also its not always on. Usually a few minutes after driving it pops on

my 99 firebird does the same thing. I havnt checked with a mechanical gauge yet but assumably its the oil pump and if it is then i would just buy a new one and replace it. thhe pumps vary from 50-200$ depending on the motor and qaulity of the pump. or you can buy a rebuild kit for it which is cheaper. Either way. Check the mechanical gauge and if it really is low replace the pump. Also if the oil hasnt been changed i would change it but when you do look at the drain plu when you take it out. if there is metal on it then there is no point in changing the oil pump the damage has already been done.
