Hi guys, I have recently bought a 98 Firebird and its started to develop a misfire under load situations. So I'm probably going to go ahead and do plugs and wires, since I have no idea when they were done.

I have done some research and it seems a lot of people go with the NGK TR55 is that correct? Is that what you guys prefer? And what plug wires MSD or something else?

As for a little background on my set up, right now my set up is stock. I'm looking to auto cross a little this summer but it is really just a daily driver.

 

There is nothing wrong with the oem AC Delco 748CC spark plug wires. And if you change your plugs infrequently I would look at the NGK 7397 Iridiums.

Yeah, the Granatelli wires are the way to go.

 

I too had a mad misfire that kinda came out of nowhere. Wires were at fault. Honestly for a stock motor cheapo copper v powers are perfectly fine for the motor. No need to go all fancy just verify their gap is around .050"

 

NGK TR55 and your choice of wires. Sounds like Granatelli's are nice, I had OEM LS6 wires on mine but they were a little more pricey. NGK's are pre-gapped btw.
