Question QUESTION -- Replacing ROD and MAIN bearings.

I have an LQ9 that has 20K miles. I am going to have the rod and mains changed just for peace of mind.

I read that if you change out the rod bolts, you need to have the rods resized; is it necessary to have this done when changing the bearings? I was also thinking of changing out the Rod bolts with Katech or ARP 2000, while I'm at it.

Right now, the car will be a DD with LTs and maybe a cam, since I might be getting a cam for free. If not, then just the LT to dumps.

On a side note, I was thinking of running the Calico coated bearings. Any thought on those?

If your plan is to just run a cam and some longtubes, I would do none of those things. Just leave it be and have fun for another 200k miles.

I have a knack for spinning bearings, that's why I am doing the swap. The WS6 I JUST BOUGHT, is making some knocking noise and it has 130K on it. Just being safer than sorrier.... I hope!
