Cam coating issue & cam advancing question Just picked up this cam and the coating appears to be 'peeling' between one of the lobes. Is this an issue I should be concerned about? (See attached Photo)
Also I am going to be running this cam in my 2004 Sierra 5.3, I have never advanced a cam before but I am wanting to keep the RPM range as low as possible and I have read of some people advancing their LS6 cams to bring the RPM range lower. Can anyone give me more info on if I should do this & if so what is the best way?
Cam specs: 214/222 Lift .559/.566 @115 LSA.

the pics look a little fuzzy on this end. try cleaning the cam with a towel and taking new pics. if there is ANY scarring or pieces that catch your nail on the lboe the cam is trash
