Cam suggestions

Cam suggestions Hey guys I'm new to the Ls family. And I'm just curious on what cam to go with on my stock motor. How big of a lift can I go that won't hurt me? And has anyone used the polluter cam and what's your thoughts on it? Thanks

Oh. I had heard that cam is good as long as I use a 4000 stall. But my plans for now are 4000 stall. Not sure on cam yet and eventually different heads and 102 mm intake. But I'm going for cam and stall first. What about a ms3?
Well having a stall will help a lot! Since you will be doing that along with heads and intake either cam would probably work great... but you will need more agressive gearing to take full advantage of it.

What is your main intended usage of the vehicle?
That IMO is 50% of which cam you should be choosing for your vehicle.
IMO it's even more important than what supporting mods you already have installed or will be installing.
Combination is key.

Well it's not my daily but I do drive it a lot. So I'm still looking for it to be somewhat dependable. I looked the cam up the guy showed on the link earlier, the cam that tick makes street heat stage 2. I'm looking for some performance out of the cam. But I definitely want a nice idle

This might seem like a stupid question, but does your car even have headers yet? If not stop worrying about what cam to get and get your basic bolt-ons done and a GOOD 4000rpm torque converter installed then get a cam. In the time you do that you'll have time to research what cam would best work for you.

Don't mean to hijack but just wondering the same about a cam. I want to put a mild one in but is it highly recommended to do a stall first? I want to go with a 3600 and almost every cam I've looked at recommends anything 3500 or above. I really don't want to put a sleeper cam but something around the middle. Possible with stock tranny/stall?

We can sure get you set up with a custom cam as well. There are many vendors and each has their own tried and true ideas as to what is correct. You can choose the stall you want, but just remember A) you WILL need a good trans cooler and B) you will be stuck with it. Plus, our custom cams are cheaper than alot of other companies off shelf cams and we have free shipping.

If your heads are not milled I would recommend a 7.400 5/16" .080" Comp Magnum push rod.
