If you're looking for another setup, specifically aftermarket heads with a different rocker setup, I have PI/Mast heads, forged ls6 block/bottom end, and a D1SC. I can give specifics about my setup, like the current pushrod length.

You should mention to those who aren't familiar, that to change the lifters, they need to pull the heads, so it's not just a simple cam swap.

If they don't know they have to remove the heads to do the lifter they probably don't need to do any testing haha.

I agree, but just spelling it out for those who might think it's just a cam swap.

Yeah, I've got head studs, and could use a different cam that better suits the blower since my current cam was designed for NA use.

We have been working on this solid lifter project and have discovered a problem that was not quite apparent at first. We have made cams for the LS Chevy since they first came out and I have worked on and built many engines and many kinds of engines since the 60’s but never any Chevy LS. I started collecting the parts and information needed to do the conversion and discovered some big problems with the stock cylinder heads. We were going to make adjustable pushrods and there is no room to get the wrenches in to make adjustments and no way to modify the head to accomplish the adjustment. We were trying to do this with just a cam, lifter, spring, and pushrod change but to make this happen there will have to be a rocker arm change also. We will need to use a rocker that has an adjuster on the push rod end, which means we will also need valve cover spacers or taller valve covers. We are still working on this project and will keep you posted on the progress in the next few weeks. The extra cost of the rocker arms and valve cover spacers will be offset somewhat because the solid roller lifters are less expensive than the good aftermarket hydraulic roller lifters. I will keep you posted. Kip

Good to hear that there are still people trying to make a better mousetrap, and aren't afraid to say when they've encountered trouble.

Very interesting. I agree with the others on trying something a little out of the norm. Looks like a great way to max out a 346ci setup.

Interesting in what you are trying to achieve.

Amazed in that you have never built an LS engine but have built many of the older engines.
Guys have 'my self included' had an LS engine built by a reputable engine builder only to have ended with a disaster due to a non experienced LS engine builder.
My guy had 30yrs experience, only LS engine he had done was mine...HUGE FAILURE.

Keep me in mind. I'm already solid roller with jesels, however I'm not in a position to get anything done ASAP.

Kip we did this about 7 years ago, and others before us. Limited travel Morel HLTs doing pretty much the same thing. 11 different pushrod lengths in the engine with a non adjustable rocker

We have a solid roller going in a engine this weekend. I am sure it will not be ready this weekend but it is going together. I am having a little trouble getting some Yellow Terra adj rockers from the WD. If I can not get them in time I will use Jesel’s for the test. I wanted the less expensive rockers. I will keep you posted.

Be careful on the spring pressure with those YT's Kip. Not sure which model you were wanting to use.

What kind of seat and open pressures are you going to utilize on this set-up?

Very cool.

Doesn't Comp make a stud mount rocker conversion for the LS?

I was wanting to use the YT adj because they are less expensive than Jesels. I would like to make the solid lifter package was close in price to the HYD package. We will see soon. As far as the spring presser we are using just enough for control.

I used those the first time around in my set up. Got less than 1000 street miles on them before they started to let go and comp would not honor their "lifetime" warranty. Was running high 400's open pressure on them.
