408 with TF 220s/ fast 90/90 HP?
#1
What would this combo lay down with a healthy cam?
Parts list: 408 short block forged internals Tf 220s hollow ls3 valves, ported/blended by Tooley. Pm guides
Dual springs Fast ported 90/90 with 42 lb injectors w upgraded fuel pump
Stock rockers with trunion upgrade Larger truck Delphi MAF
Custom healthy cam from EPS Under drive pulley
Morel link bar lifters (the good ones) Hardened pushrods measured to specs
1 3/4 long tubes
M6 ls7 clutch at the moment plan on upgrading in the future
Still debating on compression/ milling heads want to run on pump gas 93 octane Custom tune Ported oil pump
I know this setup isn't ideal due to the cast heads/ smaller headers and not running a 102 but ballpark? Open to suggestions this is just a street car not looking for crazy numbers.

Thanks I'm hoping for 500+. I'll be sure to let you know the results. Dark man yea I hope it's nasty on the low end that's kinda what I have been shooting for.
Also I feel like the heads will give me room to grow in the future if I ever have them CNCed to the 235 program.

You say healthy cam; just how healthy of a cam are you looking at? I think your choice of heads is great. With Tooley's hand work, those heads will be just as good, or possibly better, than TFS 215cc heads. Here is something Tooley had e-mailed me a while back when I was trying to decide on heads:
The only thing I would do to the LS1 heads out of the box is hand blend the CNC bowl blend into the intake and exhaust port short turns, and shape the exhaust port valve guide boss, don't touch the intake seat, not even with a sand roll, you will lose airflow. We have been shocked at how few head porters have worked on these heads, but they are not going to pick up huge cfm like on other as cast heads. Just a few hours of simple hand work is all that is needed to bring these heads up to TFS 215 power levels. Good luck!

I have a good friend that just went w/ the same Tooley touched up TF220 setup (Tooley finished, LS3's turned down, & powdered metal guides) w/ a tooley 231/241 cam, Fast 92, & a LS2 TB. It put down 460/425, and that was in a 347! Depending on your cam I'd say the extra cubes would be good for near 500 IMO. You never know what that day on the dyno holds, but that's just my guess.

We've had several 402-408 c.i. engines with As Cast 220cc cylinder heads and Fast intakes make 500rwhp and 500rwtq.
Everyone thinks bigger is better when it comes to cylinder heads and 75% of the time or more that just isn't true!

Just a little secret learned from Martin@ tick

Also since you work with TEA now can I just get the heads mentioned above from you? Ls3 valves already touched up.

Future goals would include eventually CNCing the TF 220s to 235s. Selling the fast 90/90 setup going with a 102 combo, as well as running a set of 1 7/8 headers. But since I have all these parts already it will keep me within my budget and hopefully make good numbers.

I can most certainly have the heads ordered direct from TEA along with having the springs matched for whatever camshaft you decide to run.
If you favor a Cam Motion grind seeing you have a cam from EPS currently, I can also have Kip grind something for you to my specs as we're a dealer for CM now.
I'm sure whatever Geoff cut for you is a good camshaft though.

The last one I did actually had what I consider a fairly large cam(243/250 113lsa) and it made 520/495 to the tires in a C5. 11.5:1 static CR and 8.6:1 ish dynamic IIRC. I wasn't aware that this was an option but very glad to know now.

It's best to send an email to the support email address in my signature if you're not in a large hurry to get your parts. It normally takes me a day to respond to the emails that have been forwarded to me by our office and sales personnel.
If you are in a bit of a rush, or would like a more direct means of contact feel free to call the shop anytime you please.
