Default Safe maximum RPM for my setup?

Hello,

I am wondering what max RPM you guys would run on my setup. I was shooting for 7k but wouldn't mind opinions.

L33 w/ stock bottom end at 74k
-Katech Rod Bolts
-Katech oil pump
-LS7 Lifters
-BTR Pushrods
799 heads w/
-BTR dual platinum springs and tool steel retainers
-Manley stainless valves, maybe 1-5grams heavier than stock each
-224/228 .581/.571 112+4
-MLS Headgaskets
- Subtracted .026" from combo of milling and thinner HG
LS6 Intake
-CNC'd LS1 Cable TB
Longtubes 1-3/4"

Where would you spin to?

Run in on the dyno untill it stops making power then set your rev limiter there. No need to spin it higher than it needs to. My car stops making power at 6,800 rpms, thats where the limiter is set and I shift at 6,500.

I have a 224/224/112 and mines set to 6500 I try and shift at 6300. It's done making good torque way before that anyway.

Thanks for the replies. I agree and was planning on limiting revs right after power falls off.

I was more concerned with what RPM the bottom and upper end components would be stable to. Am I going to be safe pulling up to 6.8-7k if the power is there?

I had spec'd the cam to fall off higher up and sacrifice some low end torque to help deliver the power to the ground more easily.

No need to rev it any higher than where it stops making power at. I would say with a cam that size, shifting around 6500 RPM's would be good and plenty safe.

I have done a bit more looking around, I think you guys are right my power will more than likely fall off midway through the 6's judging by other curves on similar cams. Dyno day will be the deciding factor I guess.

Yep, see what it does on the dyno and make your shift points using that data. As long as everything was put together right, no need to be scared at all to spin it as high as it needs to go.
