Default Cost and pieces required to complete a long block.

Hey guys, I've been lurking around a while and I can't seem to find an answer to this. What are the parts required to turn say, a tsp long block into a complete motor? Would it be more cost effective to buy a long block or a complete motor? Any info is appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not sure I really understand your question since a long block is basically the complete motor

Do they come with lifters? Do I need a valley cover? The rest of the small stuff that goes in/on it is what I need to know

Depends on who you buy from but most that i've seen come with lifters, valley cover, pushrods, oil pump, all gaskets and bolts, etc, etc...

IMO, if you don't have any of the below parts to transfer over to the new engine, you might want to consider a crate motor, but you won't probably have the option to pick-n-choose parts from a option list like you would with a short, or long block. Furthermore, you'll still need to get all your accessories, their mount brackets, plus pulleys.

With a TSP long block you'll need all you accessories and mount brackets plus pulleys, valve covers, valley cover(depends on engine), intake manifold, throttle body, water pump, oil pan, coils an mount brackets.

Please correct me if I left anything out.

Flexplate/flywheel, damper, valve covers & gaskets, valley cover & gasket, intake manifold, throttle body, fuel rails, fuel injectors, front drive accessories (alternator, water pump, power steering pump, idler pullies, tensioner - A/C optional), exhaust manifolds/headers, spark plugs, spark plug wires, ignition brackets, ignition coils, sensors (ECT, IAT, MAP, MAF, O2, knock, TPS), starter, oil pan, oil pan gasket, oil filter, oil, and coolant.

Might have missed something?

Sorry for the confusion, I'm starting a swap into a 350z soon. I do not have an ls motor at the moment. So it looks like I will be chasing an ls2 pullout for now and swapping that because I don't want to have to chase down that laundry list of products

These parts are easy to find and inexpensive when buying used
