I was wanting to purchase heads and cam for my 99 ss and was wanting a recommendation. I usually drive the car less than 100mi a week, and will only run 1/8 mile. It will have a built 4l60e with a 4200rpm stall, 1 3/4 Lt headers with true duals, lid, and about to have a 9in with 3.90 gears. I don't want to fly cut the pistons. Car is at stock weight and will never be much lighter. Only other thing I have a question about is which intake to get, a ls6 or bbk? I hear mixed reviews on the bbk but want to know if they ever dyno over 400 rwhp. The heads I were looking at were the PRC ls6 stage 1 with upgraded springs or the 5.3 stage 2.5, and for a cam I was looking at a ms3. I've done research and know about what I want, id like to hear some 1/8 mile timeslips from people who actually own a similar setup or a bbk intake. Thanks for any info. I'd like to make an order asap.

You will make more power and a better 1/8th with a better cam/head combo. We can custom grind you a killer cam for your build for less than the MS3.
I would either go with the LS6 or a ported LS2 with a 92mm tb would be the best budget combo.

I was looking at the 5.3 stg.2.5 with cam and pushrods for $1909. It just seems like a cheap combo. What head and cam would you recommend and a price with pushrods, and maybe an ls6 intake? I'm looking to order soon. You can pm if you'd like. Thanks

the bbk intake is better then the ls6 intake ,you can find them used for $300 .

I'm running PRC stage 2.5/5.3 heads along with a cam very similar to the MS3, and along with supporting mods and 4.10 gears, I really like this combo for the money
