If you know how to drive it right, it won't burn out alot with a good tire. Unless you are like me and like to see lots of $$ go up in smoke

I agree.

On #3, (he has an M6, Matt) if you have enough tire and enough track, you can certainly hook....but then the days of your stock rearend are few. If you wanna launch hard then start saving $$$ for a better rearend.

I had that exact setup - a C1 with 4.10's in the stock rear on Nittos.
The noises that would come out of that rear when launching hard would make me pale.
I had a few "Sonic Booms" come out of there after a decent hook, and also had tons of grinding noises under hard acceleration in 1st or 2nd gear.
The strong low end of a T1 or C1 plus 4.10's in a 10 bolt = tow truck.
My rear never grenaded 'cause I switched to a peakier cam, but I'm sure a C1 with my current 9" would be loads of fun for around town bursts.

C1 is small enough to run on stock tune, but tuning will maximize its potential and removed codes and such.

Nittos if you go to the track will out perform the cam if your running stock tires IMO. Upgrading to Nittos made my car 10 times more fun to drive. Spinning just isnt fun anymore.

I have the C1 cam and 4.10's. They go real well together. I don't have traction problems cause i'm up here at 7000 ft, but I probably will when I go back to Texas in a few weeks. It tries to die on cold starts, but I'm in the process of editing that out right now. Idle's a little lopey but not bad at all, in fact i lowered the idle to 600 rpm today and it runs fine.
