high oil pressure

Help!

Im sick of searching and finding different answers. I put an LS6 intake on my 1998 z28 vert with 12,500 miles on it. I noticed my oil pressure was at 60-65 psi at cold start up and increases as my RPMs increase up to 80psi. I dont believe this was the case before the Intake swap but I cannot say for sure. Some people say this is normal which doesnt sound normal to me? Others say the oil pump and or O-run needs to be replaced?

I have low miles and do not want to destroy my baby.

Someone else has had to have gone through this! Please help

I would check out the oil pressure sending unit. You may have cracked it when you pulled the intake manifold forward, the brake booster hose will catch it if you dont have a hand behind the intake moving it out of the way.

Hmmm. I replaced it when replacing the Intake. Was pretty careful, but who knows. Is that the logical answer to my issue?

My oil pressure is the same, with a sending unit on the oil filter block off plate. 10w30 mobile 1

if you replaced the sensor it likely just reads differently than your old one

you can check it with an external gauge you know is calibrated correctly but there is nothing wrong with that pressure

That's what my car typically runs. 7200 rpm for over 2 years and no problems yet.

I also had this when I changed my intake. I'm guessing the newer sending unit read higher then the originals. Mine don't read 80psi cold though but reads 70.
