Post is it possible to convert 5.3 to 5.7

hello there, I am new to lstech.com but here is my background I have a 2000 trans am with a ls1 aluminum block. for reasons I know its cracked. can I buy a 5.3 and convert it to 5.7 with a overbore of .20. to reuse my pistons and swap everything such as cam,crank,heads.?. since their 200 miles old. should i get a iron block since it can withstand overheating more than aluminum?

I have a cast iron 5.3 bored to a 5.7 but my cylinders are 3.905 not 3.898 like the aluminum block. I reused the oil pan, cam, lifters, push rods, oil pump, intake. I had to get new heads when mine threw a rod in the aluminum block.
