Heads for a 5.3 with room to grow?
The motor will be 11.25:1 with 58ccs and a .036 gasket with a .045 squish. I was originally going to shoot for some cncd 5.3 heads and be good with 440+ ish at the crank. Then I found the only build Ive seen similar to mine that was done with the Trick Flow 205 GenX heads and decided the money would be worth it to be north of 500hp at the crank and have a decent chance at breaking 400 at the wheels.
The motor is going in a daily. Down the road I was considering building a 383 or 408 bottom end for it. Goal is driveability and a good rev range for the street IE coming on at no more than 2500rpms out to 6500ish. So my question is, in short will the 205s be worth a damn on a larger cube motor down the road? If not will 215s turn the 5.3 into a slug down low? Because I really dont want that.
Just looking for a little guidance. Curious if maybe anyone has done a 6.0 or 408 build with smaller heads like the 205s or even ported 5.3 heads?
