Need help! Bank 1 running rich
Need help! Bank 1 running rich I've need some help I've got lq4 h/c/I car. Problem is bank 1 keeps running rich on me and car smells like gas. I've changed coils,plugs,wires,and o2s. I did have one leaky injector but got replaced it. I changed o2 and plugs after injector and still running rich. Plug car in scanner and can see voltages are changing for o2. I'm out of ideas any of you guys got any? Thanks.
Yes, check for a leak on the exhaust for that bank. If there is a leak, then the extra air leaking in, is telling the O2 sensor that the bank is leaned out. Therefore, the injectors on that bank will receive much more fuel to compensate for the "lean" mixture.

Use your scanner to display the Long Term Fuel Trim (LTFT) percentages for banks 1 and 2, at hot idle and cruising at steady throttle. Post the data here. They should typically be in the -5% to +5% range and within 1% of each other.
These values are the PCM's attempt to adjust fueling for each bank based on the forward O2 sensors' feedback.
If they're skewed badly, my next step would be to swap all four injectors to the other bank and see if bank 2 then begins running rich.
If the injector swap doesn't change things, I'd next do the same thing with the ign coils (just the individual coils, not the harnesses leave them where they are.

I dont have a scanner to tell me fuel trims its just a cheap craftsman scanner that will give live data on o2s, map, maf, etc. The coils are brand new all 8. Just coils.
Take a look on www.scantool.net if you have a decent laptop or smartphone.
Before I purchased a scanner, I took the car to AutoZone, and the employee gladly logged these parameters for me.
He went willingly, as it gave him a chance to take a "drive".

Ok ive checked my fuel pressure at idle was dead on 58psi. So next i ordered 8 brand new injectors. Got them friday to find out they sent me 60lb instead of 36lb. So back to the waiting game on the replacements.

Verdad Gallardo Well think ive got problem licked, changed all 8 injectors for new ones and tightened grounds on head more. Went about 50 miles and plugs look good and car runs good.
