Default Lubricating dry engine parts

I just disassembled my oil pan completely, and am about to reassemble it. Couple questions

1) I used gasoline to clean the inside of the pan, the tubes, and the baffle...that's ok right?

2) Do I need to clean with anything else or will the gas just evaporate and leave me perfectly clean surfaces?

3) Instead of assembling all these aluminum parts bone dry, and letting it sit for a couple months until the build is done, should I coat everything internally with assembly lube or WD-40 or something else?

I clean my parts with break cleaner or starting fluid. And I like to keep things coated in WD myself.
