Default Rockers hitting bottom of valve covers

Heard some noise the other day. popped valve covers off to find this, as well as All of my rocker bearings very loose and pushrods all bent a cpl thousandths.
As far as I know this is a bone stock OEM 06 5.3 Vin T engine.
Bolt heads showed no signs of previous owner going into the engine.
Engine also had 22psi idle oil pressure. changed oil to mobile 5w30 and filter to ACDelco PF48, now oil pressure is 42psi idle.

What could cause this?

Any modifications to the 4L60 like a higher stall torque converter, or does the pcm have a custom tune..?

I want to say valve float from the engine being over-revved, valve springs worn out, worn /loose/missing rocker arm bearings.. It could be one or all three that caused or contributed to the PRs getting bent.
So, How do the ball ends of the factory PRs look..? Do they look polished and still nice an round, or do they look misshaped ?

If the ends of the PRs still look good then I'd get new PRs, and do the trunion up grade to the rocker arm bearings. Now if any of the ball-end of the PRs look damaged /misshaped I'd pull the heads to check the lifters and the cam for damage.

Truck is 100% OEM Stock.
Bought it used, Have no idea what previous owner did to the engine.

Pushrods all look great on the ends.
My rockers do seem abit worn, when removed from the head, the trunions do wiggle around in the rocker body quite abit.
I will be replacing the Pushrods this weekend and ordering the trunion upgrade next week.

On the simple side, is it possible that the valve covers were tightened down too much?

Pic's of the rockers? From the pic it doesn't really look like the rockers were hitting causing the clean spots.

1. Can't tell from the pics, but the "marks" look like oil splash has washed the scum off above the rockers.
2. The covers being too tite. Nope. There are stop sleeves to prevent that.
3. As mentioned, the bent p rods may be due to the over rev, not hitting the covers.

How many miles are on your OD? I would guess if its over 100k you might be smart to start replacing top end components especially if something seems questionable. If you have a flat sheet of glass, when you pull your current pushrods, roll them across it and see if they skip when rolled. Chances are on a truck that is "stock", its probably just stock if there is nothing really noticeable under the hood different from OEM. If this was a 98 Camaro, I would wonder if someone was messing with the valve train.

Yup. That's why I was wanting to see pics of the rockers.

That why I didn't address the valve covers, If you enlarge the photo enough you can see that the raised bead that's on the valve cover oil shield where a lot of the rivet points are look perfectly fine and have no vertical scratches, groves, or dents in it to show any contact.

IMO, the oil stains look odd, but that's it.

You guys nailed it.
It was oil splash + seafoam that did it.
Went through top end and even tho some most PR's are slightly bent, There was no rocker contact.

I will be freshening up the top end with lifters, PR's and trunion upgrade.

Thanks for the help guys.
