Scoggin Dickey has 2 nice truck cams in that range that are both great. 214/218 with 560/560 111 then a 221/226 565/565 114. I have used both of them in quite a few builds and I have customers that have. The bad part is, most of the truck guys dont dyno their stuff! Neither needs a stall in a 5.3l and both work great. The 221 has obviously more lope but also better all around cam too! I would dial in more lift though to bring the TQ up. I would stay below 224 though.
Almost all the combos I did were on stock manifolds or pace setter 1 3/4 headers. They are great either way, but id rather stick to a shortie header or stock manis for you intended app.

Any cam in that range with a decent lobe and good cr will make good torque and some decent hp. I am not sure I would cut it on a super narrow lsa. There are some results on here I think with the 221 cam but if we can use alot better lobe and make quite a bit more power/tq and still keep it easy to drive, tune, and on the valvetrain.

If you are looking for a cam for a truck 4.8 5.3 they only come with about 190@.05 so going to 210@.05 up 20 degrees will make more torque & power but it will kill the low end unless you go up on compression but it still will not be as good as the stock cam down low. Check out our web we have drop in cams for all size engines. Drop in cams for less modified engines.
