4.8 to 4.3 Hi all, looking for advice, I want to destroke a 4.8 to make it a 260 (class rules) would run tt or pro charged blow through either way a victor jr aiming for 900 fwhp. My question is can I run the same bore and run an after market crank, I would change out all internals to handle 1200hp, also, could I use 58x reluctor, an cam with the front style sensor? Cheers
Yeah, you could, but you could need some custom internals.
Depending on RPM, you could also run it with the 58x reluctor and front cam sensor, however, some guys have experienced issues with those at higher (8k+) RPM.

It is for a boat so revs will be around 6,000' are the 4.8 blocks the same for flywheel starter and mounts as the 6 litr? Which motor would be a good starting point, would I be better with a 6.0 block and sleeve it and look at some heads to suit the small bore, or start with a 4.8

After a bit of research, iv found I can use a range of blocks with 3.780 bore and callies do the magnum crank in 2.900, which would give me 260 ci, I can go with trick flow cnc ported heads an the hi ram intake, with a good cam should go close to 400na hp, so hopfully 850-900 would on be 16ps1 away, my question is would a benefit more from a pro charger or a twin turbo set up?
