I am looking to install a set of Pacesetter LT's and offroad Y. I also want a good cam and eventually some PP stage II LS6 heads. My question is what would be a good cam for now with stock heads and later on w/ the LS6 heads. I am looking at the TSP 231/237 cam. Would that be a good choice for stock heads? Or should I go smaller like the 224/224 cam? I want to make around 400rwhp w/o heads. Thanx in advance for any input. P.S. I will have LS1 edit on hand for a basic tune.

 

TSP 231/237 is a good choice. FMS 13 would be another. TR230. and the list goes on..
Depends really what the end result is to be and what the end result as far as he setup is gonna be. Nitrous?

 

I would like to run a TNT 100 shot before I even do the heads. Should've said that in the first post I guess. So you think the TSP 231/237 would put around 400 rwhp w/ longtubes and some tuning? I want 11's up here in Utah w/ cam and 100 shot.

 

Yeah easily on that M6 application. It will love the nitrous as well.

 

So I shouldn't be concerned with nitrous back fire w/ that cam having 112 LSA? I've heard of intakes blowing out with a 150 shot and low LSA cams. Or is that all hearsay?

 

go for the 224/224 cam , but you have to program you computer to get the best power for this cam., im planning to get b1 or c1 cam shaft 224/224/558/558/114 for my car and by programing my computer with diablo power prodetor.

 

News to me but with a big shot nitrous likes the higher LSA. If you want a bad a$$ Nitrous cam then you should check out the SpeedTek W1. It is on a 116LSA. Guys getting 250RWTQ or more out of a 150Shot.

How exactly does the higher LSA make more power? Higher LSA just means more overlap correct? I guess I don't understand Lobe Seperation as well as I thought.

 

I would get the TSP 231/237 cam. It makes great power everywhere.

 

Good list. Throw in the MTI X1 and R1 too.
