Default Oil pressure

My oil pressure seems to be kind of low. When it's at idle (700 rpms) it is a little bit above the first while line. 20 maybe? Then it stays right at 40 when I'm driving it normal. Is this a sign of a bad oil pump???

Mine runs the same pressure and has for a while a compression check was done on my car yesterday 7 cylinders had 180 lbs. and #8 had 170 lbs. I'd say you're fine. What is it @ WOT?? Mine shoots to 65-70.

No, it's very typical. The OEM guages are really nothing more than idiot guages. There's nothing wrong with your pump either. You can go to an aftermarket guage for accuracy, if you'd prefer to.

Mine stays at 40 warm idle, and 50 or 60 at cruise and cold idle. Of course that's with the stock idiot guage, so those numbers could be wrong.

98's are known to have more accurate guages. Mine does that too.

I get 42-44 atwarm idle, 60 at cold idle, 60 at cruise, and a bunch more at WOT. Stock guage.

I would try changin your oil filter. Mines gone that low before to, and the inside of the filter was damaged.

it's normal. Don't worry about it. Your oil pump is bad when you have ZERO oil pressure

FWIW, I thought I'd throw this out.

I had 30-40psi at idle, 60-70 WOT for a long time.

Got a new PCM yesterday, installed it, drove around.

Idle is now at 20, wot is 40-60.

Is it possible a tune can change the pressure, or mess with the gauge?

I lost an engine due to 0 oil pressure, so I obviously keep me eye on this quite regularly.

Thoughts?

I would consider this as well. We had some pressure issues caused by the O-ring.
