Default ms3 for 383 good choice?

Im gonna be installing a 383 a buddy selling me cheap and im looking to get a cam cheap for it and i could get a good deal on a ms3 with ls7 lifters so i was thinking. If the ms3 cam would be a good choice for the engine ima be runnning stock 799 heads with a fast 92/90 combo. Btw im trying to get around 440-460rwhp Also will be running a 150shot occasionally

no offense but going "cheap" on all the parts is not going to make it drive well. You will touch 440 with that cam but with whatever cam you stick in it, the motor will be choked by those 799's. I would not worry about the cam at the moment and try to find a set of ported ones or send yours off to AI then look at cams to match the combo. In the end you'll make more power and have a nicer driving car than a mismatched choked combo.

ported heads are quite expensive all i would be able to afford is something under 900 which why i got the 799. But if i would be choking the engine with stock heads i would just save up a little more for some upgraded heads.

I'd definitely look into some tea or aftermarket heads with a custom cam I think you can hit 440 with what you have if your doing all the supporting mods fuel bigger injectors and so on... I home ported my 243s and the car runs really nice if I went with some cnc heads and 1 7/8 headers I think I'd hit the 500rwhp mark just save a little longer for better heads....like red bird said cheap really isn't the way to go
