Default Any reasons not to put 5.3 heads on an LS1?

Are there any drawbacks to doing this? I plan to have them ported and polished along with a valve job (stage 2). What size valves would be good for this, just the 2.00/1.55 stockers?

When doing this, do you have be careful on the piston-to-valve clearance? When picking a cam, does the amount of lift play a role in any of this?

Thanks.

no reason not to provided you unshroud the valve seats and put in some 2.02/1.57 or so vavles. stock 5.3 vavles are 1.89/1.55. the 5.3's are great for a compression bump. unmilled 5.3's should handle any cam you throw at it provided its not obsurdly huge.
