Default Will LS7 lifter in LS1 work?

So I have to change lifters was wanting to upgrade and was thinking about switching to LS7 lifters. Will they work, if so do i need to do or get anything else to make them work? Currently this is a project car its also a daily driver. Eventually gonna go with LS6 heads, fast intake, lsr cam, upgrade fuel injectors, trans wise putting a trans go hd2 shift kit, bigger converter, and eventually change the rear end. Currently focused on the lifter issue though. The ticking issue is annoying and I hate the power loss. Any help or advice on this would be awesome especially certain specs for head types etc.

LS7 lifters are the OEM replacements for all LS engines. So yes they will work, I would recommend getting LS2 lifter trays for the install.

Are you running a aftermarket cam currently ?

I would forgo the LS7 lifters and go for a set of aftermarket lifters.

I have some very nice drop in aftermarket lifters that are less than 100 dollars more than LS7 lifters.

Whats the range on them? I do go to the track on occassion and I have a lot of road fun as well. What kind of price are we looking at as well? I dont mind looking into them if they perform good and will work with the other stuff I have planned as well. I just dont want to have to do the work twice.

Im probably gonna need a good cam as well I want something with a good lobe and decent power but will work with basically a stock setup for now what would you suggest for that? I figured if im having to change lifters and the engine is already have way broke down I might as well do the cam while I'm at it.

Good idea, but be aware of the extra parts & Dollars needed that go with a cam swap.

I see you're in Concord as well! We'd be glad to tune the car for you once you've installed the camshaft also. We're located in Mount Airy, about 80-90 minutes North of you.

As far as the camshaft is concerned you mentioned that this is a DD correct?

I prefer and so do most of my customers as well that overlap is kept minimal in DD applications for MPG and driving manners to stay as close to OEM as possible.

I think I might just have to come down and visit you all. I'm constantly working 12-17 hour days so its really hard for me to get out though. If i had time I would probably do most the work myself unfortunately time wont allow me to and I can barely use my hand anymore due to young stupidity. I'm new to the area and all the help I can get is greatly appreciated. I'm on a bit of a budget at the moment though spent to much money moving down here from Virginia the last month. I'm sure I have heard your company mentioned several times though, and its all been good. I will be coming to visit when I get the time.

The tapping may not be lifter noise. If it changes when the motor warms it could be piston skirt slap at the bottom of the cylinder. If you go with a slightly aggressive cam the valvetrain noise may get louder even with all new parts. That's an LS for you. They make POWA though.

That's a debate that cam go on for ever but if you are mostly stock other wise, anything from 216/220-228/230 will make good power. Power curves will vary but they ate all a blast. Jegs has a couple of cams right now for $300. Good luck to you.

I only have to drive 10 miles a day to work so gas mileage isnt an issue, I would like something with a good lobe, and decent power. I probably have more fun on the street than I do at the track since i constantly work 12-17 hour days. So I'm definitely looking for the street performance more than track.

224/224 .585/.585 112lsa

Or Jegs has this cam for $300. I have one and it makes good power and chops it up pretty good at idle. PM me and I will send you and idle video through LT's, high flow cats, and a medium baffle Borla.
