Identifying LS6 cam and springs
Is there a way to determine LS6 cam and valve springs by the eye when you don't have a means of getting them measured up etc?
Does the cam have the p/n stamped into the front of it?
Are the springs a different colour?

The original 02 springs were yellow, but GM changed to the bluish color after that. The cam sshould have the last 4 digits of the GM part # stamped on the outside of the base.

I removed my cam and springs last week and the springs were blue. My cam was stamped as an 01 cam according the above statement. Are the blue springs indicating that my heads are 02 heads? It was stock as far as I know. It is an 01 Z06 by the way.

Blue springs are from the 2001 LS6 heads, good for .525, yellow springs are from 2002 and green are from 2003 LS6, these are good to about .550 some say .575
