stupid 98 starter bolts!!!!

I have a 98 z28 I'm doing h/c/I swap and I'm at the part where I need to lock the flywheel to remove the crank pulley. On the 98 the bolts are 15mm instead of 13 mm and I see why. You can't get a socket around the bottom one because the plastic cover is in the way and you can't remove it because the starter is in the way. Yes I can fit a wrench on it but it won't move enough to break it free. Any suggestions? Maybe another way to remove the crank bolt/pulley? Any help is appreciated!

Try a thinner socket or file the plastic down a bit, I was able to get a socket in there, I had a 15 socket that would fit and one that would not

What a PITA I'm gonna look for a thinner socket later then

Yeah, same here I had a thinner one that would work (craftsman I think) but the Channel Lock one from my kit didn't fit.
