What cam for ported 241s?

Default What cam for ported 241s?

Got a set of 241 heads I'm going to send to Advanced Induction to get worked on and thinking of changing to a bigger cam as well. Right now the cam is a 227/235, I got a rebuilt ls1 on a 91 C1500 with a 5 speed, soon to be a t56 on 4.10s and the truck weighs about 3800.... what cam should i go with?

Have someone like Ed Curtis or Martin Smallwood spec you out one based on the flow of those heads and your other mods. Both those guys will take damn good care of you.

What LSA and intake centerline is your current cam ground at?

I would keep the cam you have and just do heads. That is a solid cam for a heavy truck.

Yea I'm thinking of keeping it as well too...finally did a good pull and it pulls great, hopefully with the ported heads and a dyno tune itll wake it up a little more

If they are ported well it will pick up nicely.

Since you're sending the heads to Advanced Induction, I'd talk to them as well about a cam.

I would tell AI what cam you have and ask them if they feel they have anything worth swapping to from it.
Ported heads are going to wake things up a lot, and the cam specs seem reasonable.

That cam sounds pretty good... you might actually want to go a little smaller with an even tighter LSA. Like a 226/234 from AI on a 108.
