Milling 862 heads and 5.3 vs 6.0
Hi,
I am talking with Lloyd Elliot about working his magic on my 862 heads. I'm likely going with his "LE2" package and the recommended cam is 227/235 .619/.626 111 LSA. Motor is a 2000-ish 5.3. I am saying this as it has the fuel pressure regulator on the rail and the return. I have only had the vehicle about a month and haven't been able to check the block casting numbers but was told the motor was acquired as a complete unit.
I am considering having the heads milled .020" to up the compression a bit. I am also casually looking for a 6.0 motor or short block and am wondering if those heads milled .020 on a stock 6.0 would net me a compression ratio that could function with 93 octane fuel? (and what would that CR be?)
Thank you for your time.
Chris

Ok so if/when I happen upon a 6.0 I will plan for a set of pistons or maybe a rotating assembly.
Follow up- if I were to stroke the 6.0, are the appropriate pistons available to get me the extra cubes and enough of a dish to get to the CR you mentioned?
Thank you for the help!
