in relation to my 5.3 piston identificaton post
The pistons are dished with #81030c-f00704-ap1 on all of them around the installation direction mark. Do you recommended a high volume high pressure oil pump when running 3/ 4oil groove competition main bearings also I'm considering using a steel top ring in the second oil ring space and top as well I plan on hard core big twin Turbo and massive cam for my app. As well if anyone can help with the piston identification would help if not I will just buy a new set of forged. I'm attempting to build this one on a extreme budget since I paid 125$ for it already I got lucky you could say that day. Getting it so cheap. Also any input about heads would be greatfull. I can get the set that was on it with all hardware for another 100 bones there 706 cast but have read good things about the 799s. Thanks for all and any feedback.

No help on the pistons but as far as heads go the 243's and 799's don't only flow better but have a slightly larger chamber if you want to drop compression about .2:1 you would go from 9:1 to 8.8:1 all other things equal. If you decide to go that route let me know I should have a set of 243's for sale next week. What exactly are you trying to figure out on the pistons?

Forgot I also have a brand new LS6 cam I will be selling don't know price yet but a lot of 5.3 guys like them for forced induction. You actually don't want a "monster" cam b/c it can actually lower cylinder pressures due to too much overlap and the turbos blowing the air right out of the exhaust ports. Unless of course you only want power from 6000-7500 RPM.
