Talking Pics of my APE motor :)

More I look at it the happier I get so I went out and tooks some pics. My camera sucks and the motor looks even better in person. I should be dropping it in tomorrow. What do you guys think should I drop it in with the tranny attached or without. I was also thinking about taking off my hood although I did not take it off when we pulled the motor. Clearance was pretty tight then even without heads on which is why I was thinking of doing this. What do you guys think not only about the pics but about the best drop in method.

btw the intake was shipped on the motor from ape, I had to take it off for the drop in.

When i dropped my APE Motor in we did it witht he hood off and the tranny attached. Went in pretty easy. There was three of us and one person worked the jack under the car to hold up the tranny to get the motor in its mounts. Took maybe 20 min.
Motor looks good. What heads?

haha,, yeah the ape crate was pretty awesome I must say. Its sitting only on the bottom peice now, the sides and top I took off with a crowbar already. They really shipped it well, it was wrapped in shrink wrap and then put in a crate where it could not even move. Very nice.

yeah Jay ill catch ya in the morning man so we can start on this thing.

Maybe Vince can put it in without using the engine hoist,

Itll be like our own strong man competition.

Mike, what front suspension are you running because that iron block is going to sqaut the front end considerably more. Can't remember if your other motor was an iron block or not.

I did some lightening of the front end to try and counteract the irons weight, I removed the front bumper support, relocated the battery to the rear, took out the windsheild washer fluid resevoir and various other plastic peices. I am hoping this offsets the weight to a livible amount, I could still do the k member if it gets too bad. Front suspension is still stock though.

I don't think it will be that bad then, I think the only reason Kyle's was so bad was because his car was lowered. Good luck with the install man keep us updated as to the progress.
