with the LS6 pcv system.
If you were to take off your
LS1 intake and look on the
underside, you would see something
likes this:
<img src="http://c5.kicks-***.net/~eclark/images/2003Mar10/l/ls1intake%20001.jpg" alt=" - " />
On the underside of the LS6 intake
on 2001-2002 cars the coolant lines
are only a crossover piece b/n the
heads and dont run the length of
the valley cover. Reason was that
there was an improper seal between
the intake runners on the heads
and the ports on the intake. So
all that is contained under the
LS6 intake is the 2 knock sensors
and their necessary wiring. A
good fix though for any oil
consuption issues is to swap to
the LS6 valley cover which plugs
into the intake to siphon out
pooling oil and put it back into
the block. A more efficient and
cheap modification (less than $100
for it). The only catch is you must
shave off a small portion of
the block in order to have it seal.
But you also can clear out a lot
of the pcv tubing to clean up the bay
with this valley cover installed. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Cool]" src="gr_images/icons/cool.gif" />
