best heads???? any opinions on heads???
good HP...and great torque???
Looking for Ideal heads for a Daily Driver(currently 93000 miles on the motor)...ocassional track.....
probably never getting a 12bolt or slicks.....
mostly want to have some street fun...and eventually spray the bitch until it breaks
got a kind of secret cam in the works....
just looking for really good heads for what I plan on doing....
gonna need dual springs with the heads....
lokking for stage 2??? 2+??? 5.7L
and are there any power benefits from the ls6 heads or 6.0 heads???

i think the overall opinion you are going to get in this thread is that MTI makes the best heads. I also heard that when i was in the market. However, despite all of what I heard, I went and bought a set of Patriot LS6 stage II heads. they are much cheaper and some people have reported HP numbers just as high as the big buck heads. I havent installed mine yet so i cant tell you from experience, just from what I have heard. so anyway, MTI might make the better quality head.....but the patriots were a hellofalot cheaper so thats what sold them to me......its tradeoffs

Read what JRP listed. He is a great help to this site and knows his stuff.
I myself believe that Absolute speed and TEA make killer heads and Cartek is pretty damn good as well.

A 5.3 head done properly is better then a 5.7 and a LS6 head done properly is another 20 RWHP and 20 RWTQ better then a 5.3 head.
A good Stg 2 5.7 head from us is around $1500, a better Stg 2 5.3 head is $1800 and our best Stg 2.5 LS6 heads are around $3000. So you have to decide what type of budget your on and go that route.
BTW, I think a N/A 3.90 block is a poor application for a 6.0L head. Our LS6 head is 20 RWTQ better then our 6.0L head with the same CNC program and same compression. I may try to post a graph of a 5.3 head that went low 11's @ 122 compared to our new Stg 2.5 LS6 head, the LS6 head is as much as 40 RWTQ better in some spots.

I got 30 torque at the wheels when I put on 5.3 MTI 2E's. Car feels like it pulls tons harder. I got almost 30 RWHP but my timing is killing my max HP. It's only about 21* due to breaking up high in the run. I'm hoping to be able to feed some timing back into the tune with colder plugs and the catch can. We'll see.
Lots of great heads out there. Spend wisely! The 2E's are (so far) a great choice.
