Default Piston to cylinder wall clearance??

I am taking my block to the machine shop this week. Just wondering about piston to cylinder wall clearance? I was looking at forged pistons for a nitrous application but not sure what I should have the block bored to? I wanted to stick with a 3.898" piston but what would you recommend the bore at? I read somewhere online anywhere between .001-.003". Any help is greatly appreciated!!!!

Bore it to the pistons you're buying. With a high quality piston, you can bore and hone the cylinders to the bore size the pistons are intended for as the pistons are actually a little undersized so the clearance is essentially built in.

Thanks a lot man! I actually called mahle this morning to find out and they said the same thing. I do have another question if you could answer it. Did some research online and found some info on it but just want a clarification. Im boring my 5.3 (3.780) stock out to 3.898". I was looking at head gaskets and their bore sizes. the smallest bore I found was 3.910", which also had a .027" compressed thickness. How much will this affect my CR? Im gonna be running a 200-250 shot on it and was just curious so I would be able to get a close estimate.
