Default advise on which engine to build please...

hello all. I am about to get a lot more serious about the performance of my 02 ws6. in the garage right now I have a lq4 stock short block with arp-2000 rod bolts in it(got it that way), 317 heads, 243 heads, a trick flow cam specs are : 228/230 .585"/.585" 112 lsa, and a NOS wet plate kit. not to mention the bolt on ls1 in my car now.

now for my delema... should I -
A) do a heads and cam swap on to my ls1 with the 243s (ported) and run a 100 shot while building a stout lq4 with forged internals for boost. (turbo or sc)
or
B) take the lq4 short block put the cam and heads on that and swap it into my car with a 100 shot while I build a stout ls1 for boost? (turbo or sc)

thanks for your opinions and advise!
Bruce

I'm driving my ls1 while building a forged iron 408 for boost. It's not going fast enough... But iron is stronger for boost

I'm kind of having the exact same dilemma with my car (assuming I decide to keep it lol).

I've been looking at the Thompson Motorsports 370s with the hypereutectic pistons. I figure this with a set of stock 243s that I have, would be better than having the 243s worked by TEA and putting them on my 90k mile LS1... and would be similar in price after I've sold the LS1.

How much power do you plan on making? Are you planning to keep both engines stock stroke ?

For the price I think you will really like that TMS 370. That's what I went with after the LS1 blew, and am very happy with it

The engine I am running while building the boost engine will be in the 450 range plus no2, so 550ish... and the boost engine I looking for 800hp+. Not sure if I want the forged engine in the ws6 or if I'm going to look for something else to put it in. .. maybe a 280z or a gbody or find something that just needs an engine...
