Did the rockers feel like they had more play in them at all or maybe feel some binding?

Mine did the same thing. It's the trunion upgrade, 100%. There is a ton of play now also. It's actually the OD of the trunion that is failing. The needle bearings are grinding it away.

Fortunately, that's the last stop before returning the pan. I would be concerned about the oil pump as it will pump what comes from the sump, but unless the filter is plugged and bypassing the oil hopefully it didn't get into the whole motor.

Sometimes I think that automotive engines should have the filter BEFORE the oil pump.

What alloy does Comp use for the Trunion upgrade?

Can't do that because it takes the oil under pressure to push it through the filter. Only thing getting oil to the pump is atmospheric pressure. The pump creates a low pressure area and atmospheric pressure pushes the oil to the pump. The pump then pressurizes the oil and sends it on its way.

This engine should be fine, unless you totally blocked the oil filter and went into bypass mode nothing got past the filter bigger than say 10 microns.

I'd go back to stock, flush the engine good and move on down the line.

Like I said, the oil pressure is fine. The car ran great. My roller rockers were delivered today, I'm going to go buy shitty oil, fill it up, run it for a little bit, and drain it, hopefully that washes it out pretty good.

That's seriously shitty. Honestly. That really turns me off of them.

If the stock rockers work in your setup, have you considered the CHE upgrade?

I burnt a set up when I had a oiling issue. Fixed the oiling problem replaced them have not had issues 9000 miles.

Proper amount of oil and correct additives and you should not have problems

Yeah, Comp Cams in recent years is the topic of quality issues resulting in damaged engines & parts. There is the bad cam core issue and that bad batch of LT1 springs that I fell victim to.
